Shuttleworth Air Pageant

Beitrag von Ian Simpson »

Hallo Alle
Here is a link to some of the pictures I took at this years Shuttleworth Air Pageant.

The Fiesler Storch display was very impressive and took place within the width and length of the airfield and had to be seen to be believed.

Hi Ian!

Lovely old aircrafts!
I remember on a movie from the sixties. In german was named "Die tollkühnen Männer in ihren fliegenden Kisten".
It was a movie about the first crossing the "Street of Dover"with airplanes. (Robert Redford and Gerd Fröbe as actors) I have seen this in a east german cinema with my father. I was 7 years old! I remember thats was realy great!

Thank you for watching your photos!

Best wishes to you!

Thank you very much indeed,

almost like being there... One of these days I will make the Grand Tour: IWM, RAFM, HMS Belfast, Bovington, Duxford, Shuttleworth, Edinburgh Tattoo and a couple or three other places, must also not forget HMS Victory and Mary Rose.

A Storch in action is a grand sight, did it fly backwards too? Still unmatched STOL performance, a Pilatus Porter is a runway hog in comparison. ;)

Cheers,

Jens O.
