Re: Aus Schweden
Got 13 tanks back from my brother today. Now it´s up to me to get decals on them and to do the final painting.
One tractor, two strv m/37, three strv m/38, two strv m/40 and five strv m/41.
I also got a Pbil m/41 back. This time my brother did al the painting an the decals as it will included in an article in next issue of Soldat&Teknik. Al credit to "Öken-Erik".
When looing at the Pbil m/41 I can see that I should have paid more attention to the area below the headlights. There is remains from the printing left.

Re: Aus Schweden
Another RR-car built for transportation of military equipment, the Oa-class. 100 of these car was built in 1949 to transport the heavy (?) tanks m/42. They could also be used to transport two 10-12 ton tanks.
Still some works left to be done to the car.

Re: Aus Schweden
Got two strv 103B from Arctic Skunk / Shapeways yesterday. It´s one with dozer blade and one without. Altogether 290 strv 103 was built, 70 of them strv 103A, and in 1968 the strv 103B was introduced. Later al 290 was rebuilt into strv 103C.
The tanks equipped three armoured brigades and two independent tank battalions.
There was a machine gun included on the model but it was so fragile as I by accident broke those of and they were lost in the sink.

Re: Aus Schweden
Did find another producer on Shapeways, Kampfflieger Models, that makes a Swedish tank model in 1/87 scale - the LK II.
It´s close to the model from Swedish producer Modellproduktion that I have showed earlier.
At the moment the model are with my brother to get a "winter camouflage" as I need it to my third part of the article on military transportation on rail.
I have "cleaned up" the model and it got a coat of black primer.

Re: Aus Schweden
I try to combine my two hobbies, building model railroad and military models in 1/87 scale. While doing this I also thought about writing an article for a Swedish magazine and so after some five years I finally managed to get the first of three articles ready.
It will be published in Modelljärnvägsmagasinet issue 31 next month.
In this first part I will have a look at three different periods (mid thirties, mid forties and mid eighties) and se what Swedish military and railway regulations and instructions say about transportation of military equipment on open railcars. The next article will be on what sort of Swedish railcars in 1/87 scale that can be used and in the final article I will show and list what exist in Swedish military models in 1/87 scale to equip the railcars.

Got the two strv 103B back from my brother. They have now got a military green colour and it´s now my turn to paint the track and get some decals on them.
As I wrote befor it´s a model from Arctic Skunk / Shapeways. It´s the best printed model yet, at least that´s my opinion.
Her follows some pictures;
Now I will have a look at reference books.

Re: Aus Schweden
Got the LK II tank back today from my brother. It got a Winter paint as used in the Winter exercise of 1931.
It´s a model by Kampfflieger models/Shapeways.
Now it´s up to me to paint the track and some dirt.
Now at last the correct story of the ten LK II, strv m/21 and m/21-29, can be told. There has been many roomers and stories how they ended up in Sweden but now the documents have been read and the story can be read here;
http://www.sphf.se/svenskt-pansar/histo ... rjade-det/
It´s in Swedish but also a summery in English at the end. This should put the end of the roomers.

Re: Aus Schweden
With only ten LKII and one FT17 Sweden needed more modern tanks. The French NC27 was bought and the tank was named Strv fm/28 ("fm" stand for trail) n:o 11. The tank was later, in the mid thirties, used for learning tank crews driving. Today the tank still exist and if you Google you will find pictures of it.
A model in 1/87 scale from Kampfflieger Models / Shapeways.
Now the tank is designated to my brother to get a more suitable grey paint.

Re: Aus Schweden
Two Pavesi P4-100 was bought in 1921 fore trial purpose. At the time Sweden need tractors to tow AA-guns. At the same time Sweden acquired license to build Pavesi tractors domestic, two, with a Scania-Vabis was built in 1925 as Artilleritraktor fm/25 and one more was delivered as Artilleritraktor fm/27. After trail 15 modified tractors was built by NOHAB as Artilleritraktor m/28 with 10 more later as Artilleritracktor m/28(F). Altogether Sweden had;
2 Italienbuilt Pavesi P4-100
2 Pavesitractors fm/25
1 Pavesitractorn fm/27
15 NOHAB tractor m/28
10 NOHAB tractor m/28(F)
The model from JAFIR / Shapeways is not exactly right to represent the two bought in 1921, mainly is the "passenger box" to large on the model, but that didn´t stop me to buy a model.
At the moment the tractor are with my brother where it will get it´s grey military colour.

Re: Aus Schweden
Hello Ola,
that's really great! The "Suggan" (in German "Sau") is a model what I'm waiting for since a very long time.
In 2007 in England I was able to take many photos of this odd car.
But I've seen it's not yet available in shapeways?
Regards
Heinz

One company, Pansarfabriken, is out of production (models can be found on and of on "Tradera") but another company, Modellproduktion (whom just released the Suggan) have a webpage
http://www.modellproduktion.com/
The TP 21 and Strv m21-29 are not showed there but are, as far as I know, available.

Hello Ola.
I had expected the model at Shapeways from "Arctic Skunk", where all the other model are available, too, what you've shown here in the past. The 3 tank models what are shown on the "modellproduktion"-homepage are available from Arctic Skunk, too.
The Suggan is not shown on the modellproduktion homepage, but it was updated the last time two and a half month ago.
The "Tradera" page is not really helpful for us: There is no English version!
I've a last question: How many parts is the Suggan model of?
