No I have given up on pre-shading as it does not seem to work for me - it always gets lost in the paint that covers it. I used a green enamel wash by MIG on the panel lines after painting and then brushed away the excess and that seems to show up the panels better.
I try following some of the videos on the net about washes and filters but I do find the results can be hit or miss just because the size of the models in 1/87 does not always translate from the tutorials shown on much larger scales but I will keep on trying to find what works and what does not.
I have brought some of the 'Weathering Magazine' publications such as 'Dust', 'Rust', 'K.O and Wrecks' and 'Aircraft panels' and they have been quite helpful with ideas but time will see if they also can be useful on smaller scale models.

No I used the new Vallejo 'Metal Color'. It needs to be painted over a gloss black base colour like Alcad but it is an acrylic rather than an enamel paint which I prefer especially when cleaning the airbrush.

Yes there was a lot of masking tape involved. The hardest part was trying to print the Tiger head as yellow is not a very strong colour on an inkjet printer. I had to print the head onto white decal paper and then cut around it but even then it is still a little see through. Now if I could convince somebody to make some decals for all the other Tiger meet Tornados and Typhoons that would be something.
